Friday, during a bill signing in the Oval Office, Trump said it was not intended as a serious suggestion when asked to expound upon his controversial statement.
“I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you,” he said, “just to see what would happen.”
Dr. Birx, one of Trump’s leading health advisors responded first with this expression:
