Hello! It sounds like the 9th annual “I’m a Survivor” seminar organized by IAG Productions and poACTry Productions is going to be an incredible event. The seminar will take place on August 12th at the Midtown Art Center.

The seminar aims to provide artistic counseling to the community of Houston through various forms of art. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear testimonials from survivors in Houston, listen to talented artists sharing their own stories, and participate in a Survivor panel discussion where they can ask questions and receive valuable answers.

The focus of the event is to help the community heal from past experiences and empower individuals to embrace new beginnings. This year is all about leaving the past behind and striving for greatness. The event celebrates the journey of survival, and it emphasizes that everyone attending is a survivor in their own right.

The seminar will be hosted by Ajali and Felicia Shantell, two prominent figures in Houston, with Carlos Wallace serving as the keynote speaker. The event will also honor outstanding individuals in the community with awards such as the Epitome of a Survivor, Lifetime Survivor, Living Legend, and Acts of Service. Additionally, there will be a proclamation in the city of Houston and a presidential honor.

In the spirit of giving back, there will be a school supply drive for Hartman Middle School, and attendees are encouraged to drop off their donations at the Shrine of the Black Madonna on Saturdays between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. For drop-off purposes, you can also contact Felicia Shantell through Facebook. Furthermore, the event supports the West End Church of Christ’s West End Homeless Outreach Ministry by collecting toiletries and used clothing for the homeless.

Overall, the “I’m a Survivor” seminar promises to be a transformative and uplifting experience. It offers an opportunity for healing, growth, and community support. Make sure not to miss it on August 12th!
